Gateway House is a Grade II listed building in the heart of the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Idyllically located by the Woolwich Ferry this extraordinary venue is available to hire for conferences, business meetings, music concerts, film premieres, celebrations, weddings, parties, conventions and exhibitions, and exercise classes.

The venue offers all the aesthetic elements of a superb range of versatile spaces, which make for spectacular events – all enhanced by flawless service provided by our experienced conference coordinators and technical engineers.



Our History


Originally a cinema, It was designed for the Oscar Deutsch chain of Odeon Theatres by architect George Cole. The building opened in 1937 and continued as the Odeon until closing in 1981. It reopened as the Coronet Cinema from 1983 until 1999. It’s now home to New Wine and fondly referred to as Gateway House. The venue has been meticulously renovated and is beautifully presented throughout.

Transportation Links

Gateway House is located in easy access to London City Airport and Gatwick Airport, making it convenient to fly into the city for meetings. The Woolwich Ferry, Woolwich Arsenal Train Station and Woolwich Arsenal DLR Station are all major transport links situated in the heart of Woolwich in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Woolwich Railway Station is also being built by Crossrail Limited as part of the Crossrail (Elizabeth Line) rail project and is planned to open soon to have trains to Canary Wharf, Central London and Heathrow Airport.


Car Parks


There are four car parks closest to Gateway House all within a stone’s throw namely Powis Street, Monk Street, Calderwood Street and Travelodge.
